Suited for Change (SFC) is pleased to announce that the Suite PurSuit 18th Annual Celebration will take place on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 6:00PM-9:00PM at The Naval Heritage Center. The organization’s signature event will be guest hosted by NBC4 Anchor Eun Yang and will feature a catered dinner by SFC Partner DC Central Kitchen, noteworthy cocktails, and both silent and live auctions. The event will honor their first and only male board member, Neil T. Gillespie, Senior Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton, for his leadership in establishing a multi-faceted integrated corporate partnership to strengthen SFC.

Suite PurSuit guests will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of items in the silent and live auctions including a champagne and dessert demonstration and tasting for 10 with Dr. Roland Mesnier, who “served” five U.S. Presidents as the White House Pastry Chef, and a limited-edition fire engine red Kitchenaid professional mixer with White House etched bowl. Guests will also enjoy the premiere of SFC’s Public Service Announcement developed and filmed by Imagemakers, a joint student and Women in Film and Video project.

Funds raised from Suite PurSuit help SFC continue to provide professional clothing and ongoing career and life skills education to low-income women throughout the year. Referred by over 100 local agencies and organizations, women come to SFC to select career appropriate clothing in a specialty store atmosphere under the guidance of volunteer job coaches who also advise them on how to make a good first impression. Event proceeds will also fund skills development workshops aiming to increase employment and job retention potential and contribute to their clients’ economic independence.
