EDITOR'S NOTES: MBFW - TOP 5 LOOKS AT MARC JACOBS

TOP 5 LOOKS AT MARC JACOBS

Alright, let's just all admit that Marc Jacobs stole the show at NY Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012. No one (except Alexander Wang) even came close. Can we just say that we were blown by the set that was built for the stage? Did you see that it had an upstairs to it from which Mr. Jacobs, himself, descended? This was Marc Jacobs at his best. I loved all of the looks and the styling was fabulous. The big hats and the incredible metallic buckle shoes... whew! It was incredibly hard but here are my top 5 looks at Marc Jacobs:

EDITOR'S NOTES: MBFW - TOP 5 LOOKS AT RACHEL ROY

TOP 5 LOOKS AT RACHEL ROY

One of the things that I love about Rachel Roy is her love of color and patterns. She always has the best patterns and you can rest assure that you will be able to find a mixture of big, bold colors in all of her collections. It was a great departure from all of the black on the Fall/Winter 2012 runways.

Here are the top 5 looks:

EDITOR'S NOTES: MBFW - TOP 5 LOOKS AT ZAC POSEN

TOP FIVE LOOKS AT ZAC POSEN

I am a huge fan of Zac Posen. I have always loved how whimsical his collections would be. I even loved his immensely popular line that he designed for Target. But I would really blown away by the beauty of his Asian-influenced collection for Fall 2012. Simply gorgeous.

EDITOR'S NOTES: THE TOP 5 LOOKS AT PREEN SPRING 2012

It was even harder trying to choose 5 looks from the Preen Spring 2012 collection that at Chris Benz. I practically loved every single piece that walked the runway. Every piece. But as an editor, I need to narrow it down a bit. But trust me, I would have this entire collection in my wardrobe and wear it over and over and over again.

EDITOR'S NOTES: MBFW - TOP 5 LOOKS AT CHRIS BENZ

The mixing and matching of prints at Chris Benz were delightful. I love prints. So when I see looks that mix prints so effortlessly, I am always drawn in. It was very difficult to pick just 5 looks. I loved how it was playful and fresh and fun. A very lighthearted approach to Spring 2012 fashion.

EDITOR'S NOTES: MBFW - TOP 5 LOOKS AT EDUN

After having an amazing lunch with event planner extraordinaire Preston Bailey (his diet is primarily raw foods), I realized the importance of what we eat and how we treat the Earth. Sustainable clothing is just as important as sustainable food sourcing. It all ties together. That's one of the reasons why I really love Edun. The label was launched by Ali Hewson (wife of Bono) and Sharon Wauchob is the fashion designer at the helm. There are working with eight factories in Africa which is helping to grow the economy and raise awareness of the viability of African countries as clothing manufacturers.

EDITOR'S NOTES: MBFW - TOP 5 LOOKS AT @DVF

There are very few women in the world like Diane von Furstenberg. Very few. I adore this woman. She has been such an inspiration to me. I love how she is just who she is and never apologizes to anyone for staying true to herself. And when she is not true to herself (i.e., the Michelle Obama comment), she is woman enough to apologize.

EDITOR'S NOTES: MBFW - TOP 5 LOOKS AT ZAC POSEN

Ah, New York Fashion Week (or rather Mercedes Benz Fashion Week)... My favorite time of the year. There is always so much to see. I have so much respect for the effort that is put into pulling these shows together. Designers are literally sleep-deprived, hungry, and exhausted by the time the runway show begins. Love it.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week - Fall 2011: Doo.Ri

Doo.Ri is the queen of neutrals. She makes neutrals look so chic. Totally lovin' the beige, gray, deep blue palette. She had very little black and that was refreshing (even though black is my favorite color). Another designer who made me want everything that went down the runway. But what stopped me in my tracks, of course, were those FIERCE lace-up boots. I will take one pair, please.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week - Fall 2011: Reed Krakoff

I guess Reed Krakoff's artistic side needed a different outlet other than Coach! The Coach big shot showed an amazing collection at MBFW. I am so impressed. I totally want everything. There was plenty of leather everywhere on the runways. Reed Krakoff was no exception and we all know that he knows good leather. Someone needs to drop that mustard-colored leather dress in my closet by accident! LOL!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week - Fall 2011: Rachel Roy

I adore Rachel Roy. When she came to Tysons last summer, she was so personable and her spirit was amazing. I am a huge fan because she is the queen of mixing patterns effectively. Not only mixing amazing patterns but selecting patterns that have a cool bohemian/ethnic feel. You feel like you are walking along the Nile River. I especially love the first outfit on the second row. It's so me.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week - Fall 2011: Luca Luca

Another fav was definitely Luca Luca. Who knew that bold colors could look so fab for fall/winter? I really am lusting after the hot pink shirt and pants with the orange fur. Totally want that outfit.
