Rukiya's World: Fashion Flashback

Donyale Luna was the first Black notable cover girl in the1960's. She also appeared in numerous films by the infamous Andy Warhol. Known for her exotic looks,Ms. Luna began to grace the covers of Haper's Bazaar, Vogue and Paris Match at just 20 years old. Luna's career began to decline after she became more known for her lack of professionalism rather than her talent. But there is no doubt she paved the way for other models like Beverly Johnson, Naomi Campbell and many more.
