PROMO: Get Ready for the Sweetlife Festival!



HOT CHIP, U.S. ROYALTY, THE LOVE LANGUAGE, PHIL ADE, WILL EASTMAN AND DJ GRANT SHAPIRO TO HEADLINE THE FIRST ANNUAL SWEETLIFE FESTIVAL IN DC ON APRIL 24TH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ROCK THE VOTE

The 2010 first annual Sweetlife Festival, in partnership with Rock The Vote, will showcase a diverse blend of acts to create a memorable outdoor music festival in celebration of Earth Day on Saturday, April 24th from 3pm – 9pm. With live performances by Hot Chip (DJ Set), U.S. Royalty, The Love Language, Phil Ade, Will Eastman, DJ Grant Shapiro and a very special surprise performance, the Sweetlife Festival is sure to bring a new level of music discovery to the DC scene while celebrating a good cause.

The festival is free and open to the public with limited tickets available via the Sweetlife blog beginning on April 9th and available for pickup at the Sweetgreen Dupont store prior to the event. Festival goers are encouraged to get in on the act and donate at the time they sign up to receive tickets. All proceeds from the Sweetlife Festival will benefit Farm To School, an organization committed to connecting schools (K-12) with local farms. The organization’s objectives include serving healthy meals in school cafeterias, improving student nutrition, providing agriculture, health and nutrition educational opportunities, and supporting local and regional farmers.

Since the first Sweetgreen store opened in 2007 by 25 year old entrepreneurs Jonathan Neman, Nicolas Jammet and Nathaniel Ru, the company has set an unmatched standard for sustainable practices among D.C.’s food scene with a focus on local sourcing, composting, alternative energy usage and reclaimed materials in an effort to build restaurants that support their neighborhoods and communities.
