The Washington Convention and Sports Authority has adopted a new name and visual identity as part of its ongoing campaign to attract more events and provide greater economic benefits for the nation’s capital. Now called Events DC, the Authority celebrated its new brand identity at an exclusive party with VIPs and other high profile guests at Sax Restaurant & Lounge in Washington, DC. The launch, sponsored by Washington Life and UPTOWN Magazine, included music by celebrity DJ D-Nice, premium open bar featuring specialty cocktails provided by Grey Goose, and endless hor d'oeuvres provided by Sax. Famed DC cartoonist Nick Galifianakis, celebrity stylist Paul Wharton, documentary filmmaker Karim Chrobog, and Nationals players Drew Storen, Tyler Clippard and John Lannan joined Events DC CEO Greg O’Dell in the celebration.
Events DC oversees the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, an anchor of the District’s hospitality and tourism economy that generates over $400 million annually in total economic impact. Events DC also manages the Stadium-Armory campus, which includes the historic Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium and surrounding Festival Grounds, and the non-military functions of the DC Armory. Events DC also built and now serves as landlord for Nationals Park, the first LEED-certified major professional sports stadium in the United States. For moreinformation, please visit Events DC.
